Spit Splicing yarns

I found this tutorial as a matter of necessity.  I am working on a small project for Emma in Rowan Felted Tweed.  The cat attacked my yarn and split it into two pieces.  It's a small enough project, so that I can't have a knot in it.  Here's what I found.  Works great!
